If you are looking for an extra robust skeleton on a robust stand in natural size, this is the skeleton for you.
Mounted on the stand, the skeleton is about 177 cm high. It is cast in an extra strong plastic material and is therefore perfect to have in, for example, a classroom or other environments where your model will be moved and touched a lot. The level of detail on the legs is really good. Almost all joints are held together by metal buckles/metal, which limits the movement of the skeleton's joints. The robust skeleton is delivered on a metal stand that consists of a 5-branched foot with wheels at the bottom. Like the skeleton, the stand is also very stable and durable and can withstand rough treatment.
A transparent protective bag is included in the purchase. The skeleton is delivered almost fully assembled and it only takes a few minutes to assemble the few parts that are delivered separately from each other.
Anatomically, the skeleton shows all the bones of the body (including the hyoid bone and sesamoid bone). Cartilage in the chest and teeth in the upper and lower jaw are also visible.
The skull can be separated from the rest of the body and divided into three parts (the upper part of the skull, the lower jaw bone and the rest of the skull).
The level of detail on the bones is high. Large and small anatomical "landmarks" are shown - for example, the tuberculum majus and minus on the humerus and the linea aspera on the back of the femur (thigh bone). The epiphyseal lines are also shown on the upper and lower extremities (arms and legs).
An impressive number of details in the bone tissue are visible. However, its structure is not as realistic as, for example, this more advanced skeleton.
In terms of movement, the model is not very flexible. Since all joints are connected with metal buckles/metal, the range of movement is limited. For example, flexion and extension (bending and stretching) but not rotation can be seen in the knee joint.Clinically, the robust model is ideal for understanding many diseases where the skeleton is involved.
