Model of the esophagus with pathological conditions

This detailed model shows the lower part of the esophagus and the upper part of the stomach. The model illustrates several different diseases and is a good tool for teaching the diseases. The diseases shown on the model are as follows:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease

- Barrett's esophagus

- Esophageal varicose veins

- Hiatal hernia

Anatomically, the model shows part of the esophagus, the passage through the diaphragm. Some fatty tissue and the beginning of the stomach (mainly the fundus gastricus but also some of the corpus gastricum). The model focuses on the mucosa of both the esophagus and stomach.
