Heart model with left ventricular hypertrophy and strain

If you are looking for a heart model that illustrates the long-term effects of pathologically increased cardiac activity, we recommend this one.

The model is slightly smaller than a natural heart. The front part of the heart is removable, so you can see the inside of the heart. The model is delivered on a removable base and measures 12 x 12 x 14 cm.

Anatomically, the heart model shows the 4 cavities, the auricles, the heart's blood supply (arteries and veins), the 4 valves (cusp and mitral valves), the beginning of the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the heart, and the structure of the heart (endo-, myo-, and pericardium). The heart's conduction system is not visible.

Clinically, this model is special as it illustrates the consequences of diseases such as high blood pressure and aortic stenosis. The muscle wall (myocardium) in the left ventricle (chamber) is significantly thicker than normal (called hypertrophy). The apex (tip of the heart) is rounded.

The model is also perfect to use to understand aortic stenosis because it illustrates the aortic valve and the ascending aorta.
