Model of the foot skeleton with ligaments and Achilles tendon and part of the tibia and fibula
Are you looking for a foot model that shows the most important ligaments of the foot, this educational model is perfect for you. The model is made in the natural size of the foot and the dimensions are 23 x 18 x 30 cm. It weighs 0.672 kg and is delivered on a stand.
An overview where the model's anatomical structures are named via pictures and lines has been made for the model. It is not included in the delivery but can be downloaded here on the page - see under the product images (press the PDF symbol). The names are in Latin and several other languages, but not Swedish.
Anatomically, the foot model shows part of the tibia (shin bone), a little of the fibula (fibula) and the entire foot (pedis) with its 26 bones. In addition, all the most important ligaments are shown in light blue as well as some other important anatomical structures such as the interosseous membrane of the cruris, the Achilles tendon and the tendon of the peroneus longus muscle.
In terms of movement, this model is not flexible, but can only be tilted back and forth on the stand (see pictures on the left). Thus, the natural movements of the ankle joint cannot be demonstrated.
Clinically, the model is perfect for understanding ligament ruptures, rupture of the Achilles tendon, and dislocations (out of joint). In addition, the model is useful for understanding many types of ankle fractures, fractures in the metatarsal, toe fractures, foot deformities such as flat feet, high arches, metatarsus varus, hallux valgus (bent big toe), hallux rigidus and hammer toe.
