A classic flexible 74 cm spine model from 3B Scientific, used to show the structure of the spine and how its segments move.
In addition to the complete vertebral column, the model shows the occipital bone, a male pelvis with femur heads, the vertebral artery, the spinal nerves and a disc herniation between the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae (L3–L4).
The spine is held together by a strong copper wire and a rubber tube behind the spinal nerves. Discs and vertebrae are joined with pegs, which makes the model flexible so that bending and rotation can be shown.
