Practise central venous puncture with ultrasound and landmarks
The trainer is designed for practising ultrasound-guided central venous puncture as well as landmark puncture. Learners identify the puncture site by recognising the important anatomical landmarks.
When the vein is punctured with negative pressure on the syringe, simulated blood can be aspirated. Backflow of air indicates an incorrect puncture of the lung. When the ultrasound probe presses on the internal jugular vein, the vein becomes oval and deformed.
The trainer is designed for practising exploratory puncture – a catheter and guide wire cannot be inserted. Please note that ultrasound behaves differently in the model than in the human body, so the images obtained may differ from those of a real patient.
