Practise three intramuscular injection sites with visible anatomy
The simulator is designed for teaching intramuscular injection to health care students and can be used for classroom demonstrations as well as group practice. It offers both visual and tactile learning.
A simulated bony structure embedded in the torso represents the upper end of the femur with the greater trochanter, the posterior superior and anterior superior iliac spines, and the sacrum. These provide palpable anatomical landmarks so students can identify the correct injection sites.
A section of the upper outer quadrant of the left gluteal area is cut away to show the underlying structures: the gluteus medius and gluteus maximus muscles, the sciatic nerve and vascular structures. Skin and muscle textures as well as bone shape and position resemble a real patient, giving a natural feel during needle insertion.
