If you are looking for a foot model that focuses on the disease plantar fasciitis, this model is perfect for you.
The model is made in natural size. It weighs 0.4 kg and has dimensions of 22.9 x 7 x 10 cm (length x width x height). It is delivered on a stand.
An information card with a picture of the model where the model's anatomical structures are named in English is included in the package.
Anatomically, the foot model shows a little of the shin bone (tibia), a little of the fibula (fibula) and the entire foot (pedis) with its 26 bones. The bone tissue has not been the focus when making the model and therefore anatomical "landmarks" such as depressions and protrusions are not visible.
The plantar aponeurosis (the arch plate of the foot), some important ligaments at the ankle joint and the Achilles tendon are visible on the model. In the sole of the foot (planta pedis), only the plantar aponeurosis is visible, which is attached to the bones of the foot. Neither muscles, ligaments, nor anything else is visible.
In terms of movement, the model is not flexible and therefore cannot be used to demonstrate movements in the joints of the foot.
Clinically, this model is perfect for understanding the disease heel spur/plantar fasciitis. It can also be used for many other medical conditions such as rupture of the Achilles tendon, dislocations (out of joint), many types of ankle fractures, fractures in the metatarsal, toe fractures and foot deformities such as hallux valgus (bent big toe), hallux rigidus, hammer toe, flat feet, high arches and metatarsus varus.
If you are looking for a foot model that is perfect for understanding both heel spurs and other soft tissue conditions such as tarsal tunnel syndrome, we recommend our foot model with many soft tissues that can be divided into nine parts. You can read more about it HERE
