Training leg for newborn intraosseous infusion
This training model is a newborn-sized right leg for vascular access exercises. A replaceable tibial bone lies under a smooth outer skin, and the model has anatomical landmarks for teaching intraosseous access and infusion.
A distinct pop can be felt as the cortex is penetrated and the bone marrow is entered, and simulated blood returns on successful entry. A bag on a stand provides a continuous supply of simulated blood.
The leg also includes a femoral vein and artery pair and an intramuscular injection site. The veins withstand multiple sticks, and skins and veins are easy to replace.
