GENESIS – neuraxial block training in the lumbar region

GENESIS is a simulator for training common neuraxial blocks. The ultrasound-compatible model contains the anatomical structures of the lumbar region and provides a realistic dural puncture. With realistic loss of resistance and a fluid-filled intrathecal space, users can locate the correct target sites.

The spinal space consists of fluid-filled tubing that simulates the dural click and CSF confirmation. The epidural space allows the loss of resistance technique to be practised. The spinous processes are visible and palpable for locating the interspace, the ligamentum flavum has a tough, gritty texture for a realistic tactile feel, and the iliac crest serves as the standard landmark for the L4 spinous process.

In addition to the standard core, puncture cores for geriatric and obese patient anatomy are available as accessories.
