A skin scrubber, also called an ultrasonic spatula, is used in facial treatments for deep cleansing and to work serum into the skin. A microneedling pen, often called a dermapen, has a cartridge with fine needles and adjustable needle depth.

Microneedling should be carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions with sterile single-use cartridges.
